Toddler I Room (12-24 Months)

What an exciting time to be a parent! One-year-olds are becoming more active, exploring their surroundings, and talking away. Here in the Toddler I room we work with your child to strengthen & develop their physical, social, emotional & language skills through a variety of daily activities and play.

Behavior Management
In the Toddler 1 room we begin to work more with expressing emotions, social interaction, and being aware of others' feelings. We do not expect that a child at this age will understand completely how to share or play with others. Therefore, we use only redirection as a means of behavior management in the Toddler 1 room.

Helpful Items
  • Two spare sets of clothing (pants, shirt, socks, shoes) that should be updated as the seasons change and your child grows
  • Diapers and wipes (we will let you know when more are needed)
  • Child size sleeping bag
  • Coat and hat, or coat with hood for cool days
  • Boots, mittens, and snow pants for winter
  • Sunscreen, hat, and bug spray for summer
